august 2nd: y'know when you put something off and then you leave it so long it gets embarrassing to the point that you don't even want to think about doing it?
well, i'm afraid that's what's happened to me and this website. i've been intending to update it ever since the days in new york, back in january. it was such an incredible trip, and we had such a great time. there was so much to see, do, and write about, and in fact i did write about it, for the new vitory theater blog. unfortunately i never cross-posted. if you'd like to read the entries i wrote, click here.
and then there was tour! long, wonderful, lengthy, rewarding, extensive and fantastic tour. north from vancouver to prince george, down through alberta to calgary, out to rural saskatchewan, followed by ontario, illinois, and a trek through the midwest to california, calgary again, some more saskatchewan, and finally home through the slocan valley to vancouver... quite a journey. over 25,000 km logged on our faithful van.
so, what the heck did i do with all my downtime that kept me from updating? well, a couple things. one was a deluge of tv series (battlestar galactica, kids in the hall, true blood and roseanne, to name a few) and, more productively, knitting. yes, knitting. quite the time-passer when there's tens of thousands of kilometres to get through. check out my number one project:
baby socks. fantastic, quick, rewarding little things. and my new sortof-niece ruby grace looks fantastic in 'em.
so, sorry i haven't been around, but at least know i've been busy. next stop: australia! click for details.
a note on the site: i designed and built everything here myself. i've tried to find the right compromise between design and user-friendliness, and i don't want anyone with old browsers or less-than-savvy internet skills to be left behind. please let me know if you have any problems.
